SAFEBORDER.Network will include a 'bad guy' database from launch!

World Border Organization BORDERPOL is pleased to announce that work on the SAFEBORDER.network (www.safeborder.net) is progressing ahead of schedule and will be launched in the fall of 2010.

The SAFEBORDER.network initiative is a global password protected extranet designed for sharing information between countries and between the agencies involved in border security.

SAFEBORDER.network will ONLY be available to law enforcement practitioners or agencies directly involved in border security. Here they will be able to share information on education, training, doctrine, best practice and more specific information about criminal gangs, terrorist organizations, their structure and modus operandi. It will also include other useful features like a forum, equipment database and events calendar.

It has been decided to bring forward the inclusion of the international 'bad guy' database and to include it from day one of the official launch!

This will enable member countries and agencies using the SAFEBORDER.network interface, to share profile information on known criminals and terrorists.

The next developmental phase will include a distance learning program; the purpose being to set and raise standards across the global enforcement community and create an internationally recognised qualification.

SAFEBORDER.network is an entirely self funded BORDERPOL initiative and in the absence of funding from governments BORDERPOL is actively seeking corporate sponsorship to continue the development of the network and meet the ongoing administration costs. To become a sponsor contact tony.kingham@borderpol.org

The domain name to watch is: www.safeborder.net

WBO BORDERPOL has also launched a 'Friends of SAFEBORDER.Net' on LinkedIn for those people in the wider community that wish show their support for the initiative and stay informed about its progress.
