Military Helicopter Systems

Starting with the 3-ton single engine A119 Koala and running all way up to the 15-ton EH101, the AgustaWestland military systems range is unmatched. Integration of state-of-the-art avionic systems and mission equipment make each helicopter a fully operational system, not just a platform. The 3-ton twin-engine A109LUH helicopter is the leading multi-role helicopter in its class and is able to satisfy a wide range of military missions.

Purpose built for maritime operations, Super Lynx is the world's best selling light naval helicopter and has gained a reputation for its outstanding ship operating capabilities. The EH101 medium-lift helicopter is now in service with operators around the world in a wide range of roles. The three-engine EH101 is the most advanced aircraft in its category and is available in naval, SAR and utility versions.

The brand new twin-turbine AB139 utility helicopter draws upon the combined experience of Agusta and Bell to set new standards in the medium twin market in terms of performance, comfort and crashworthiness. The AB139 helicopter along with the BA609 tiltrotor are products of the joint venture company Bell/Agusta Aerospace Company (BAAC).

The company is the only European manufacturer building two different attack helicopters, its own A129 Mangusta design and the Apache AH Mk.1, produced in Britain under licence from Boeing.

The 10-ton NH90, developed under a European joint venture in which AgustaWestland has a 32% share, is now in production in naval and utility versions. Orders for over 300 aircraft have been placed by customers around the world.

The Tilt That Changed Rotorcraft

A new era in vertical lift technology began on 7 March 2003, when the BA609 tiltrotor took to the skies. Designed and built in partnership with Bell Helicopter Textron, by BAAC, the BA609 offers an all new high-speed multio-role transport system. Flying at twice the speed of equivalent helicopters, the BA609 will revolutionise the rotorcraft market with the ability to take over the roles of helicopters and fixed wing turboprop aircraft.
